UT Bank founder Prince Kofi Amoabeng arrested for banks collapse


Founder and CEO of collapsed UT Bank Mr. Kofi Amoabeng has reportedly been arrested by the Ghana police service for reasons which have to do with the collapse of the bank.

According to a report by TV3 one of Ghana’s biggest television stations, the former UT boss was picked by the police on Tuesday.

He has since the collapse of his bank been a subject of investigation for the financial losses which were incurred by some Ghanaians.

UT bank as well as capital Bank were the first two banks that suffered their collapse after the bank of Ghana started a cleanup on Ghana’s financial sector.

Several people have been questioning why the individuals who were reported to have been involved in the collapse of the various financial institutions have not faced the law.

From the look of things, Prince Kofi Amoabeng is one of the first people to be facing an arrest by the police since the collapse of the 7 commercial banks.
