Ghana’s Emergency Medical Ambulance Service has had a face lift with the addition of new Ambulances to all constituencies in the country.
The nations Emergency Ambulance Unit has also launched a news emergency response number which is 112.
Distress calls can be placed to the Emergency Medical Service by dialing 112 on all mobile networks.
The Ghana Ambulance Service has also given other options such as the use of the Ghana Post GPS APP for individuals to place emergency calls to the Ghana Ambulance Service.
As things stand now, all constituencies in Ghana can boast of having an ambulance which is very well equipped.
USING 112 TO PLACE A DISTRESS CALL.
An emergency or distress call from an individual requiring an emergency service can be placed by dialing the emergency number 112.
The call will be directed to the control room of the Emergency Medical Center of the Ghana National Ambulance Service. Details of the location of the individual requiring the service will be taken and an ambulance will be discharged immediately.
USING THE GHANA POST GPS APP.
The Ghana Post GPS APP is structured to place a call to the Emergency Medical Service command sector in addition to the location of the distress caller.
One can navigate to the menu after opening the Ghana Post GPS APP. Tapping on place a direct call, and the call will immediately be sent to the command sector.
The caller’s location as well as details will be taken after the response team attends to the call and an ambulance will be dispatched to the said location.
